About the Role:
Recovery Mobile Clinic is a nonprofit organization that Takes RV Units, converted into medical clinics, into the community to offer medical care to the undrserved. We have 5 RV units that are running on a daily basis. We run off of Cumins 4000 generators.  We are looking for a skilled generator mechanic with certifications in  Cummins to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role for a motivated technician who takes pride in precision work and keeping critical equipment running at peak performance. If you're passionate about keeping this team moving, and you want to make a real impact, we want to hear from you! This would be a job requiring support at both of our stations. We have a station in Wixom with 4 RVs and 3 SUVs and a station in Troy with 1 RV and 1 suv (9 total vehicles). We are requiring routine maintenance work on the Generators (oil changes, air/fuel filters, carborator replacements, brushes, starters, greasing chassis ect). We run these units routinely with very high hours.

We can guarentee 10 hours a month for routine maintenance. Additonal hours for generator/engine repair can be paid at a flat rate.

We are looking for someone who also has experience on engine work on chassis of RV and SUV and engine maintenance . Routine maintenance and occassional repair as needed work for mechanical issues. 

This position will also require as needed work when a unit goes down. The goal is to be able to switch out a spare generator for the broken one, and then repair the broken one and keep that as a spare. 

This Position may be mostly afternoons, evenings and weekends, to accomodate workng around when the Units are out in the field seeing patients. 

This position will answer to the Fleet Director and the Chief Opperating Officer. 

Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain Cummins generator systems to manufacturer specifications
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on generator units
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and fuel system issues on Cummins engines
  • Conduct load bank testing and performance evaluations on generator sets
  • Document service records, parts usage, and maintenance logs accurately
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and service calls
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company protocols during all repairs
  • Mechanical experience on working on a RV chassis Ford V10 engines 
Requirements:
  • Cummins factory certification or equivalent Cummins generator training required
  •  experience  working on a RV chassis Ford V10 engines 
  • Proven experience servicing and repairing Cummins generator systems
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, engine diagnostics, and generator controls
  • Ability to use diagnostic software and tools specific to Cummins equipment
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a mobile service environment
