We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Group Leader (HVAC) to join our Engineering team in Woburn, MA.


About the Role

The Engineering Group Leader serves as the technical leader and resource coordinator for the HVAC engineering workgroup. This role combines technical leadership, team development, and project delivery oversight to support high-quality engineering outcomes across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day work of HVAC technical staff, including workload planning and coordination
  • Provide technical oversight across design, production, and construction administration phases
  • Support project delivery by monitoring schedules, quality, and resource allocation
  • Conduct QA/QC reviews to ensure compliance with firm standards, codes, and best practices
  • Mentor engineers and designers to support technical growth and development
  • Contribute to engineering standards, BIM workflows, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Serve as Project Leader or Project Manager on select projects as needed
  • Participate in client meetings, interviews, and business development activities


Knowledge & Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • 8+ years of applicable HVAC/MEP engineering experience
  • EIT/FE preferred; PE strongly preferred
  • Experience mentoring or supervising technical staff preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of HVAC design principles, construction practices, and applicable codes
  • Strong proficiency in CAD and Revit/BIM workflows
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills


Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer
  • Ability to conduct field investigations and construction site visits

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $115,000 – $150,000 base (targeted range; placement based on skills, experience, scope, and internal equity)
