Purpose and Description

As a lead within the Accounting team, work with the CFO to carry out the company’s accounting and finance functions.

Essential Job Functions

• Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures. Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule.
• Compile and analyze data and create reports to assist leadership in meeting overall financial goals and objectives.
• Assist in preparation of budget.
• Monthly account reconciliations.
• Assist with company reporting requirements and audits.
• Process vendor payables and customer receipts
• Serve as backup to other accounting team members
• Support CFO with special projects and workflow process improvements.
• Process bi-monthly payroll through ADP Workforce Now.
• Compilation of revenue reports.
• Monthly and quarterly invoicing.
• Ad hoc requests and projects for Executive Leadership.

 Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.) in accounting or finance. Advanced degree a plus, but not required.
• 2+ years of experience in an accounting/finance role, preferably in the insurance industry.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

• Must be a fast learner with strong attention to detail.
• Proven knowledge of accounting principles and practices along with the ability to analyze financial data and provide accurate and timely reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with a variety of functional areas and levels.
• Demonstrates accountability for results and understands the financial impact of decisions.
• Must have the ability to be a self-starter and work with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks is preferred. Advanced Excel skills required.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks.
• Ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and complete work in a timely manner.
• Experience processing payroll with ADP Workforce Now a plus.
