Assignments are on complex standard or specialty machines. Works under limited supervision and exercises independent judgment. 5 years minimum automated controls design experience in programing PLC鈥檚 and HMI鈥檚. Experience with AB and Siemens Motion Control software platforms a must. Knowledge of risk assessments, UL, CE and CSA are desired. Project management experience. 聽 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES The primary duties and responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer/Controls Engineer consist of but are not limited to: 路 Generate PLC and HMI programs for packaging machinery 路 Specification of electrical components 路 Design electrical schematics using AutoCAD electrical 路 Generate bill of materials and project related documentation 路 Release parts for procurement and assembly 路 Capable of performing essential functions in an independent manner. 路 Act as lead controls engineer on projects from concept to customer acceptance 路 Responsible for multiple projects at one time 路 Service Work, Travel required 10%. to 20% 路 Design UL,CE and CSA compliant machinery 路 Responsible to work to get certifications above 路 Direct the operational checkout of machinery 路 Verify safety standards are met 路 Troubleshoots machines and supports checkout and FAT 路 Support Sales, Assembly, Procurement and Parts departments when required 路 Participate in construction operating manuals 路 Troubleshoot existing machinery and production lines 路 Other duties may be assigned 聽 QualificationsSKILLS REQUIREMENTS 路 Proficient in AutoCAD electrical 路 Interpersonal skills and ability to supervise people are a must. 路 The incumbent will possess the necessary skills required to meet project schedules and deadlines. 路 The candidate will also possess knowledge of packaging equipment functionality and design. 聽 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 路 B.S. in Electrical Engineering 路 5+ years minimum automated controls design experience in programing PLC鈥檚 and HMI鈥檚. 路 Experience with AB and Siemens Motion Control software platforms MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE The Electrical Engineer/Controls Engineer shall be considered to be performing in an acceptable manner when the following have occurred: 路 Satisfactory performance of all essential job duties 路 Employee maintains a positive attitude and production relationship with co-workers 路 Employee works as a team member and helps out where ever needed 路 Employee is willing to work overtime when asked 路 Employee follows all safety precautions and regulations 聽
