Position overview: 

The Senior Accountant position is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and demonstrates the ability to contribute across a variety of responsibilities to support departmental and organizational objectives. This position will be responsible for preparing various monthly journal entries and accruals in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company financial policy, as well as analyzing business data to support business goals and objectives.  

Main responsibilities: 

The role will be responsible for the following: 

  • Execute assigned responsibilities in accordance with the monthly close calendar and company policies, ensuring timely and accurate completion of journal entries, reconciliations, and fluctuation analysis for areas including, but not limited to: payroll/benefits, accounts receivable, accounts payable, debt, vendor rebates, prepaids and accruals.
  • Manage all weekly, bi-weekly and off-cycle payroll journal entries and monitor all costs for employee benefits while partnering closely with Payroll/Benefits to ensure accurate recording, reporting, and allocation of costs to departments of all related transactions.
  • Prepare the monthly balance sheet and income statement and provide inputs for the statement of cash flows.  In addition, prepare quarterly footnote support.
  • Own other monthly close tasks including, intercompany eliminations, headcount statistics, and closing the accounting periods in NetSuite.
  • Own all related audit requests for the interim and annual audit, ensuring that all requests are provided to auditors in a timely manner.

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required 
  • CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred 
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in general ledger accounting 
  • Proficiency in NetSuite and/or Epicor ERP systems preferred 
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP  
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing, distribution or related environment preferred
