Maintain a 10/20 and be in a rescue position at all times while “in chair.” Maintain an alert status at all times when on duty and avoid any unnecessary talking with patrons or other staff members. Be prepared at all times to demonstrate the use of any rescue or first aid procedure as covered in the training program. Failure to correctly perform any task may lead to disciplinary action or job termination. Be knowledgeable on emergency procedures including phone numbers to be used at the pool in case of emergency or accident. Be dressed in proper attire Adhere to scheduled hours Cleaning of deck, office, or other pool areas as needed or assigned. Report any issues relating to the pool to the Pool Manager. Follow all safety rules and procedures as outlined in the safety manual. Follow district and departmental safety, personnel, and administrative policies and procedures Follows dress code with uniform provided. Wear uniform, rescue tube and whistle while on duty. Attend a minimum of 4 hours of in-service training each month. Attend and be held accountable for information presented at all staff meetings. Instruct Swim Lessons. QualificationsRequirements / Qualifications: Must be at least 15 years old (with a work permit), or 16 years old (no work permit needed) Excellent communication skills and customer service. Ability to address complaints and resolve concerns as needed in a professional manner. Mental and physical ability to respond quickly to any emergency. General knowledge of pool operation. Detail oriented and a keen awareness of surroundings. Required Certifications: First Aid/CPR Certification or ability to receive upon hire. Ellis Lifeguard Certification or ability to receive upon hire. Work Environment and Physical Demands: Work is subject to inside/outside environmental conditions. Requires occasional lifting of heavy objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Ability to pass the vigorous pre-season training. Demonstrate 20/30 vision or the ability to achieve 20/30 vision through the use of corrective lenses. Exposure to chemicals and confined space areas.
