Automotive Service Advisor

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and resilient Service Advisor to join our Buy Here Pay Here (BHPH) dealership team. This role serves as the primary point of contact between customers and our service department. The ideal candidate understands the importance of customer communication, organization, and accountability while maintaining professionalism in sometimes challenging situations.

This position requires thick skin, patience, and strong conflict-management skills. Customer interactions may occasionally be tense or unpleasant, and the ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-focused is essential.

What does an Auto Service Advisor Do?

• Schedule service appointments
• Write up vehicle problems accurately
• Build repair estimates
• Check on progress of repair throughout the day
• Contact customer regarding status of repairs
• Review repair orders to ensure that work is completed
• Invoice repair orders
• Explain completed work charges to customers
• Maintain high customer service/satisfaction standards
• Handle telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in progress
  
• Coordinate with management to assign work
• Test drive vehicles
• Process new inventory deliveries
  
• Maintain Service Center appearance 
  

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Valid drivers's license required
• Must have excellent computer skills
• Must be able to write clear and precise repair instructions
• Knowledge of automotive maintenance/repairs
• Great Phone Skills
• Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills
• Continuous communication on jobs throughout the day
• Eagerness to be a team player
