Overview:

Sentara is seeking an experienced Program Director to lead and develop an Emergency Medicine residency in Woodbridge, VA. This will include the 2023 Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) application process for a 2026 program start. The position will involve direct patient care, leadership, teaching, and administrative responsibilities which will encompass full time hours with a clinical component through TeamHealth. This is an excellent opportunity to help establish a new GME program and to make a difference in the community by training new physicians and partnering in our mission to improve health every day.

Job Highlights:Ā 
ā—Develop the program curriculum. Ā Maintain current knowledge of national innovations in curriculum form and content.
ā—Responsible for the recruitment, selection, instruction, supervision, counseling, evaluation, and advancement of residents.
ā—Develop policies for the program and monitor overall compliance with these policies.
ā—Provide leadership and direction to ensure compliance with institutional and program-specific requirements as defined by the ACGME, Clinical Learning Environment Review (CLER) Evaluation Committee, and National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).
ā—Serve as the primary graduate medical education (GME) leader for Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in partnership with Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine.Ā 
ā—Responsible for prudent management of the program’s financial resources

Minimum Requirements:
ā—M.D or D.O., licensed to practice medicine in Virginia
ā—3 years of experience as a Core Faculty member in an ACGME –accredited Emergency Medicine program
