Role Overview:Ā 

The Sr. Technical Agronomist serves as a trusted technical advisor to sales teams and customers by providing advanced agronomicĀ expertise, crop production recommendations, and product stewardship support. This role partners closely with Sales Agronomists, Crop Advisors, Territory Representatives, and Marketing teams to drive customer success, support product positioning, and deliver agronomic solutions that improve crop performance and profitability. Leveraging deep technical knowledge, field experience, and industryĀ expertise, the Sr. Technical Agronomist influences business growth while ensuring responsible product use and agronomic best practices.Ā Ā

A Sample of WhatĀ You’llĀ Do inĀ this Role:Ā 

  • Provide advanced agronomicĀ expertiseĀ to support sales teams, customers, and strategic business initiatives.Ā 

  • Deliver crop production recommendations and technical guidance related to crop nutrition, crop protection, seed, biological, and specialty product solutions.Ā 

  • Collaborate with Sales Agronomists, Crop Advisors, and Territory Representatives toĀ identifyĀ customer needs and develop agronomic recommendations.Ā 

  • Conduct field evaluations, crop scouting activities, and technical assessments to support customer success and product performance.Ā 

  • AssistĀ with product launches, positioning strategies, and technical training programs for internal and external stakeholders.Ā 

  • Analyze field data, research results, and agronomic trends to develop practical recommendations andĀ identifyĀ growth opportunities.Ā 

  • Support demonstration trials, research plots, and evaluation programs designed toĀ validateĀ product performance and agronomic practices.Ā 

  • Present technical information through customer meetings, grower events, field days, and training sessions.Ā 

  • Maintain current knowledge of agronomic practices, industry trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies.Ā 

  • Partner with marketing, product management, and technical teams to develop technical resources and customer-facing content.Ā 

  • Promote responsible product stewardship and compliance with all company, regulatory, and safety requirements.Ā 

  • TravelĀ frequentlyĀ to customer locations, research sites, field trials, and company facilities to support businessĀ objectives.Ā

What You Bring toĀ the Role:Ā Ā Ā 

  • 5+ years of agronomic, crop consulting, technical service, or agricultural sales support experienceĀ 

  • Strong understanding of crop production systems, fertility programs, crop protection products, and agronomic best practicesĀ 

  • Experience interpreting agronomic data and translating findings into customer-focused recommendationsĀ 

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skillsĀ 

  • Ability to travel within an assigned geography to support customers, field activities, and business initiativesĀ 

  • ProficiencyĀ with Microsoft Office applications and agricultural technology toolsĀ 

  • Knowledge of agronomic practices, industry trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologiesĀ 

  • Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) certification preferred or ability to obtainĀ 

  • Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agriculture, Plant Science, or a related fieldĀ required; advanced degree preferredĀ

Compensation and Benefits:Ā 

  • In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $69,000 - $92,080. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience.Ā Ā Ā 

  • This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, and retirement plan participation, including an employer contribution of up to 7% into your 401(k).
