Position Details:

  • Title: Special Education Teacher
  • Location: Woodbury, TN
  • Duration: April 6th, 2026 to May 20th, 2026

  • Working Hours: 35 hours weekly, from Monday to Friday
  • Student Age Group: Middle School (6-8) Life Skills classroom (severe/profound)
  • Case Load: 9 to 10 kids

Responsibilities: Special Education Teacher

  • Teach in a CDC (life skills) classroom
  • Manage student behavior using de-escalation strategies
  • Follow Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
  • Develop Instructionally Appropriate IEPs
  • Implement data collection practices
  • Communicate clearly with parents, administration, and district coordinator while maintaining confidentiality
  • Perform basic clerical tasks such as email and documentation

Qualifications: SpEd Teacher

  • Hold a 461 endorsement
  • Experience teaching in a CDC (life skills) classroom
  • Experience managing student behavior
  • Experience developing Instructionally Appropriate IEPs
  • All teachers shall be licensed in accordance with state law and the regulations of the Tennessee Department of Education.
  • Holds a Bachelors or Masters Degree as needed.
