Common Area Attendant 1st Shift

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Common Area Attendant For 1st Shift. In this role, you will be responsible for the cleaning of the resorts’ common area spaces, such as lobby areas, public restrooms, and special areas in the resort, that spaces are well maintained, clean, and ready in a timely manner for guest usage. In addition, you’ll be responsible for delivering items to guestrooms (guest requests, newspapers, and property specific items) when requested.

 

As part of our leadership team, you’ll embody our Promise to Lead with Love—guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. You’ll ensure the resort is fresh, sanitized, and guest-ready, creating a welcoming environment that enhances both guests and associate comfort.

 

*** Position starting as early as September. ***

 

Pay Rate - $14 - $15/Hr.

 

Key Responsibilities  

 

  • Assure that proper cleaning equipment and chemicals are used when cleaning floors and furniture.
  • Cleaning duties include but are not limited to cleaning and rearranging all public tables and chairs, changing of trash bins, cleaning of ashtrays, and sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning and polishing of windows, elevators, wood and leather.
  • Shampoo carpets in public areas according to hotel standards.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
  • Comply at all times with Kalahari standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.

 

What We’re Looking For  

 

  • Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
  • Basic working knowledge of all needed equipment and supplies is helpful.
  • Must know how to strip floors and lay down wax.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work long hours including weekends and holidays.
