Cook I – Restaurant
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Cook I – Restaurant. In this role, you’ll work alongside the Restaurant Chef to help keep our restaurant and kitchen operation running smoothly. You’ll assist with preparing food for the restaurant, room service/Togo, and food outlet meals; help ensure each dish meets our quality and presentation standards before it reaches our guests; and support a clean, safe, and well-organized kitchen and storage environment. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys hands-on culinary work, takes pride in food quality, and wants to be part of a team that minimizes waste while delivering memorable dining experiences.

Pay Rate: $15-$16/hour
Â
Key Responsibilities Â
- Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
- Make pizza dough and sauces.
- Ensure that all food and beverage products are consistently prepared and served according to the facility recipes, portioning, cooking, timing, serving, and presentation standards.
- Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times.
What We’re Looking For Â
- 1 + years of experience in a high-volume restaurant/food/concessions outlet production kitchen is preferred, or experience in a similar capacity.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment, work under pressure, and meet deadlines with particular attention to detail.
- Must be able to withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, kneeling, lifting, and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs. without restriction.
- Ability to work on nights, weekends, and holidays.
