Diesel Mechanic

Job description:

Chrisp Company, specializing in the highway improvement construction industry for over 40 years, is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for our Woodland, California shop.

Hours:

Monday - Friday
10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Occasional overtime as necessary

Responsibilities:

• Perform inspections and diagnose issues on trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
• Diagnose and repair issues in engine, brake, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system.
• Conduct 90-day DOT inspections and perform routine fluid maintenance services.
• Operate the facility service truck to perform on-site repairs and maintenance as needed.
• Drive facility service truck for field repairs and maintenance as needed.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Consent to a motor vehicle record (MVR) check and drug test as part of the pre-employment screening process
• Maintain a driving record that meets the standards of our insurance provider
• Routinely moves equipment weighing 50 pounds
• Basic computer skills to be able to use fleet management software
• Experience working on Cummins engines
• HD/IM Certified
• Willing to work overtime when needed

Qualifications:

• Must possess a valid drivers license.
• Detailed oriented with a positive attitude and aptitude
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Takes responsibility and ensures the job is completed
• Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and components
• Ability to safely operate vehicles and equipment to test and trouble-shoot for proper operation before and after maintenance.
