Overview:
McMillan Electric is seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Director of Quality to lead our quality assurance and control initiatives across manufacturing operations. In this pivotal role, you will develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive quality management systems that ensure our products meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for the company’s Quality function and Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve quality systems, procedures, standards, and documentation.
  • Lead the identification, investigation, and resolution of product, process, and production quality issues.
  • Establish quality objectives, KPIs, and compliance targets; monitor trends and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable customer, regulatory, national, and international quality requirements.
  • Lead internal, customer, supplier, and process audits and ensure timely resolution of findings.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other functions to support new product introduction and process improvement.
  • Oversee customer quality requirements, product returns, complaints, corrective actions, and customer audits.
  • Provide leadership for supplier quality, including supplier performance, material conformance, and corrective actions.
  • Develop, coach, and lead Quality personnel while promoting a strong culture of quality and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Prepare quality performance reports and communicate risks, trends, and improvement opportunities to executive leadership.
  • Oversee product reliability and life-testing programs, including failure analysis and identification of potential failure modes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues, implement corrective actions, and track resolution effectiveness to prevent recurrence.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field; advanced degree or professional certification preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive Quality experience in a manufacturing environment, including significant leadership and management responsibility.
  • Proven experience providing strategic leadership for a Quality function and Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Extensive knowledge of ISO standards, SPC, quality planning, CAPA, root-cause analysis, auditing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, including production processes, MRP/ERP systems, productivity, efficiency, and cost of quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and manage Quality KPIs, objectives, compliance targets, and improvement initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T, PFMEA, control plans, process validation, inspection methods, and reliability testing.
  • Proven experience leading customer, supplier, internal, and regulatory audits, as well as customer complaints, supplier quality issues, and corrective actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, coach, and lead high-performing Quality teams and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent analytical, written, verbal, and executive communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, customers, and suppliers.
