Description

 JOB SUMMARY: Northwest Physical Therapy & Sports Rehab is seeking a high functioning candidate with medical office experience that is energetic and well-organized to work in our  office. You must have excellent customer service skills and be proficient at multitasking.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Communicate effectively (in person and by phone) and courteously with patients, physicians and their office staff, insurance company representatives, peers, coworkers, and supervisors.
  2. Schedules patients for services(s) within established guidelines.
  3. Greets and registers patients in a timely, professional and customer-focused manner.
  4. Explains Northwest PT policies and procedures and billing processes to patient. Direct patient appropriately as needed.
  5. Tracks and obtains ongoing insurance verification/authorization information from payers and communicates this data to patient, admission staff and treatment team.
  6. Collects patient co-payment, co-insurance, and deductibles as well as related fees for supplies and services.
  7. Generates and maintains medical records.
  8. Responds to all requests for information according to established procedures.
  9. Assumes responsibility for and maintains cash drawer system according to procedure.
  10. Maintains office and facility inventory and orders supplies as needed, following established procedures.
  11. As appropriate, attends and participates in clinic/management meetings and inservice education programs.
  12. Participates in training and cross training of all staff. Ensures competency of training to maintain efficient clinic operation.
  13. Performs other duties as requested

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a high school diploma, or GED.  One or more years of experience in a medical records department or recent graduation from an accredited medical records program strongly preferred.  Strong attention to detail and accuracy a must.  Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on exceptional customer service required.  Computer experience in windows, spreadsheets, and word processing preferred.
