Primary Responsibilities
The Electrical Engineer supports the reliability, maintenance, and improvement of electrical power and control systems at RoyOMartin’s Chopin manufacturing facility. This entry-level role works alongside experienced engineering, maintenance, and operations professionals to develop hands-on technical expertise in industrial electrical systems, controls, automation, and project execution. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with analyzing and troubleshooting electrical power and control systems
- Support the design, coordination, installation, and commissioning of electrical projects
- Support Allen-Bradley PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo systems, HMIs, and industrial networks
- Assist with maintaining Rockwell AOP, EDS, and firmware files
- Maintain electrical drawings, documentation, and RoyOMartin specifications
- Work with the electrical department to develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs for electrical equipment
- Assist with electrical project schedules, budgets, and capital project activities
- Support plant arc flash studies, electrical safety documentation, and NFPA 70E compliance
- Assist with short circuit studies and protective device coordination
- Support process instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, and flow measurement systems
- Work with vendors and technical resources to learn and evaluate new technologies
- Provide technical support to plant electricians and operations personnel as knowledge and experience develop
Job Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline preferred
- Recent graduates and early-career candidates are encouraged to apply
- Foundational knowledge of AC and DC power and control circuits
- Foundational knowledge of three-phase electrical systems, motor controls, PLCs, and industrial automation
- Exposure to Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs, servo systems, or HMI programming preferred
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and electrical drawings preferredÂ
- Familiarity with NFPA 70E and electrical safety principles preferredÂ
- Exposure to process instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, and flow measurement, is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Manufacturing or industrial experience through employment, internships, co-ops, or coursework is a plus but not required
