Position Summary

As a Senior Manager on the Price & Value Innovation team, you will contribute to developing holistic, customer-centric price and value strategies & plans that inspire customers to consistently choose CVS as their health and wellness retailer of choice.  Our goal is to accelerate growth in sales units and customer trips. In this role, you will operate in an ambiguous, innovative environment. Ability to learn quickly, think critically in white space will be critical to success. Senior Managers will partner with a team to drive a deep understanding of the CVS customer and their needs. 

You will accomplish this by:

  • Perform deep customer & market analyses to develop category specific business insights & recommendations to accelerate growth in sales units and customer trips.
  • Build category level holistic, customer-centric price and value plans
  • Perform customer analysis to identify customer segments, attributes and behavior patterns to find opportunities to improve regular prices and promo/coupon plans.
  • Gather information to develop and improve marketing campaigns and analytics tools that support promotional activity for CVS Health.
  • Develop and improve CVS's promotional analytics tools to support merchants and maximize the effectiveness of promotional activity across the chain
  • Analyze market and business conditions in regional or online markets and aggregate relevant data to create reports and tools that provide key insights
  • Understand data constraints and business requirements and deliver new tools or reports to meet those needs leveraging search marketing tactics and web metrics to increase visibility in target markets
  • Manage large datasets and SQL-based processes that drive reporting and dashboards; optimize all collected and transformed data, ensure easy access and efficient runtime for processes and queries, and maintain the efficiency of data management and code scripts;
  • Collect and analyze data on customer demographics and preferences to identify factors affecting demand and manage Tableau and Excel-based dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) across Merchandizing categories;
  • Oversee key legacy dashboards used across the Price Value department
  • Review business requests for changes, and review design and technical execution of changes including coding, calculations, and visual representation
  • Work with cross-functional teams including Finance, IT, and Marketing to solve problems, understand business requirements, and align outputs and processes with organizational goals; deliver recommendations to optimize promotional strategies for merchants and solve key business problems leveraging reporting capabilities and tools; and provide business insight supported by marketing analytics and statistical analyses.


Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems/Sciences, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in retail analytics or a related occupation.
  • Ability to operate in an ambiguous, innovative environment, learn quickly and think critically in white space
  • Retail basics (i.e., Category Management), and merchandising organizational structures and processes
  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Minimum two years of experience and technical skills in each of the following:
    • Python and XML
    • Oracle and SQL
    • PowerBI
    • Machine Learning, Statistical Analysis, and Predictive modeling
    • Development of ERP to optimize operations, including analysis of financial KPI to support and inform business decisions.
    • Relational database concepts
    • Data analytics on large data sets in healthcare, business, or retail sector
    • Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) processes
    • Designing data models and solutions for analytical and reporting use cases, including designing dashboard to improve data visualization.
  • Ability to operate in an ambiguous, innovative environment
  • Ability to learn quickly and think critically in white space
  • Retail basics (i.e., Category Management), and merchandising organizational structures and processes
  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to (25%).


Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA
  • Previous Management Consulting experience for a top-tier firm
  • Specific experience in Retail category management, CPG, or vendor management leading strategic commercial projects with significant business impact
  • Retail/CPG experience and/or experience analyzing large customer / transaction data sets
  • Experience using Tableau, SQL, and other technical tools

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$82,940.00 - $182,549.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
