Job Summary

The Union Sr. Business Office Representative is the key contact for GI patients requiring Endoscopy services. The incumbent performs extensive computerized procedure scheduling duties, processes forms and paperwork, handles financial arrangements, provides clerical support, performs data entry, and other job related duties. The incumbent serves as liaison between the patient and the Endoscopy Unit.


Duties & Responsibilities

Obtains patient registration information upon initial telephone contact and performs extensive computerized procedure scheduling.
Triages and tracks telephone contacts.
Greets and processes patients entering GI/Endoscopy.
Coordinates activities and special projects in GI/Endoscopy, and serves as a resource 
to internal and external staff.
Coordinates activities and special projects in office, and serves as a resource to 
internal and external staff.
Oversees patient financial process to ensure payment is obtained and properly 
processed.
Manages patient data, charts and files.
Provides general office support to department as needed.
Protects and preserves patient rights to confidentiality.
Performs other job-related duties as required or requested.


Requirements

Associates degree with three to five years experience in a health care environment, 
or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be familiar with medical 
office and surgical booking procedures and medical terminology. Knowledge of Excel,
Word, IDX, and Cerner required. Must have excellent secretarial, interpersonal and 
communications skills. Must be proficient in the English language, bi-lingual preferred.
