Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a Tax Senior Manager or Vice President in our Wooster, Ohio office. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates interested in relocating to the area.

This position is designed to be flexible based on experience and career progression. Candidates may be hired at the Senior Manager or Vice President level, with responsibilities and expectations aligned accordingly.

This role offers the opportunity to take on a meaningful leadership position within a growing practice—whether that means managing complex engagements and developing talent or driving client relationships and contributing to the firm’s long-term growth strategy. Senior Manager:

  • Lead tax engagements from planning through execution, managing multiple client engagements simultaneously
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor on tax matters
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, billing, and collections
  • Provide leadership, direction, and coordination of resources to ensure high-quality client service
  • Mentor, coach, and develop team members
  • Contribute to firm growth through business development efforts and participation in internal initiatives

Vice President:

  • Serve as a primary client relationship leader, with overall responsibility for client satisfaction, engagement success, and long-term growth
  • Provide strategic leadership across complex engagements, ensuring quality, profitability, and alignment with firm objectives
  • Drive business development and practice growth, including originating new client relationships and expanding services within existing clients
  • Act as a trusted business advisor, identifying opportunities for tax, advisory, and consulting services beyond compliance
  • Maintain a strong presence in the business community and represent the firm in industry and networking settings
  • Collaborate with firm leadership to shape practice strategy, drive innovation, and support market expansion
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams, including developing future leaders within the firm
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and thought leader, staying ahead of tax, regulatory, and economic trends impacting clients

Core Qualifications (All Candidates):

  • CPA required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated strengths in: 
    • Leadership and relationship management
    • Project and engagement management
    • Technical tax expertise and analytical thinking

Senior Manager:

  • 7–10+ years of related experience
  • Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and build strong client relationships
  • Experience mentoring and developing team members
  • Exposure to business development and client growth initiatives

Vice President:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in public accounting or a related field
  • Proven success in business development and client expansion, with the ability to identify and capture new opportunities
  • Demonstrated experience with client ownership, including overseeing engagements and serving as the primary relationship lead
  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to anticipate client needs and market trends
  • Established reputation for technical excellence and leadership within a specialty or industry
  • Ability to influence, lead, and inspire teams while driving firm-wide initiatives
  • High degree of professional presence, credibility, and business acumen

Benefits/Compensation:

Determining actual compensation relies on many factors including individual candidate experience, qualifications, and comparable benchmarks. Base compensation for this role typically ranges between $130,000 and $170,000 for the Senior Manager level and between $200,000 and $250,000 for the Vice President level. Additionally, we offer discretionary year-end bonuses to supplement your compensation package.
