A typical day for a Produce Specialist may include:
- Approve all warehouse produce invoices on weekly basis
- Set up bi-weekly conference calls-help with semiannual produce managers live meetings and agenda.
- Input on new item selections and deletions on specialty and seasonal items
- Category buyer for produce as well as office administrative assistant for produce, shared responsibility for store support, administrative duties – reporting and produce buying into warehouse
- Meets with vendors – secures ad items- responsible for ad recaps for vendor support contracts
- Places orders for key suppliers including –Sanson, Caito, JohnCo, PPI, Spartan and several other contacts seasonally
- Responsible for all the produce administrative work, including pricing, AS-400 entries and adjustments, store calls, Production Planning weekly spreadsheets, inventory control, purchasing supplies and labels and daily contact with stores
- Assists Merchandising Director with the weekly ad writing and gross profit projections- monthly healthy living ads and seasonal or special promotions
- Weekly travel to stores for special projects, merchandising support, and store support
- Weekly Business letter communications- including merchandising selling points- seasonal requirements

Minimum position requirements:
Associates degree minimum
Previous office administration experience
Previous produce experience
Proven mid-level to advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills
Proven aptitude in proofreading: spelling, grammar and overall content clarity

Additional position details:
- Non-exempt hourly position
- Office hours typically are M-F 8am – 4pm; some weekends for special projects or training
- Expected to work 40 hours a week
- Will require weekly travel to various store locations
