Description
Ensures efficient and welcoming circulation services. Responsible for library service point operations and student staffing supervision. Manages inter-library loan lending and borrowing activities, and is the primary contact with partner ILL libraries.
Hours of operation are from Sunday to Thursday 3PM to 11PmĀ
Primary Functions and Responsibilities:
Ā
- Directs the daily circulation and service point operations of the library and ensures service coverage.Ā
- In collaboration with the Public Services Librarian, hires, trains, schedules, and supervises student staff. Ā
- Maintains knowledge of and uses institutional systems for student management and coordination of student assistants (hiring, payroll, etc.).Ā
- Documents and implements library policies and procedures.Ā
- In collaboration with the Public Services Librarian, assesses, analyzes and revises circulation and ILL services and procedures.
- Maintains a knowledge of all facets of the libraries' online circulation system: handle overdues, billing, and search for missing items, etc.Ā
- Coordinates interlibrary loan activities and maintains a knowledge of all facets of the systems used to facilitate ILL activity.
- Monitor and report access, security, safety, and maintenance issues for library buildings.Ā
- Perform other duties as required. Ā

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalentĀ
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a library, or equivalent customer service experience.Ā
- Supervisory experienceĀ
- Proficiency with office technology and preferably familiarity with library software.Ā
- Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively.Ā
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with people with diverse backgrounds.Ā
- Problem solving and analytical skills; accuracy and attention to detail.
