Registered Pharmacy Technician

This is a 40 hours per week fulltime position on site

Position Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician Registered assists the pharmacist with providing safe and appropriate pharmacy services to FHCW patients in accordance with policies and procedures and MA professional standards.

Program Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service by professionally answering calls and clearly identifying yourself by name and pharmacy 
  • Maintain positive patient interactions while ensuring proper identification is provided for controlled substances 
  • Ensure patients understand medication instructions, potential side effects, and therapeutic goals 
  • Provide culturally appropriate communication and interpretation services for patients and accurately record and maintain confidential patient information 
  • Support the Pharmacist in precisely counting and dispensing medications 
  • Monitor medication availability, preparation, storage, and control procedures 
  • Understand and comply with payor formulary requirements 
  • Complete all required documentation in a timely manner
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and privacy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment


Education And Experience:

Must have completed an accredited Pharmacy Technician program. High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in the sciences preferred.

Preferred candidate will have one – three years of experience as a pharmacy technician.

Must hold a current Certification in MA as a Registered Pharmacy Technician.
