To perform the maintenance and upkeep of the hospital high pressure 

boilers and related equipment in accordance with and as mandated by 

Massachusetts law. 

Responsibilities

  • Conducts PM (computer generated, and as referenced in the engineering policy manual) activities according to schedule and takes appropriate corrective action where required and uses own initiative to investigate and implement a valued course of action.
  • Maintains and repairs all equipment and issues as it relates to their trade to maximize efficiency and the operation of same and carries out the repair to a professional conclusion. 
  • Organizes the procurement of parts, equipment and supplies in order to assure economies are achieved. 
  • Recognizes needed repairs in other areas of responsibility and implements and troubleshoots corrective action through the appropriate channels. 
  • Has a high degree of skill in applying knowledge and creativity to provide a professional outcome. 
  • Performs related duties as required

Qualifications

  • Required:
    • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Experience: 
      • 1-2 years in a similar environment 
      • TQM knowledge base 
    • Licensure/Certification: Second Class Fireman’s License
