Role Overview
The Assistant Center Director is a key operational leader who supports the Center Director in running a high-performing dojo. This role blends front-line execution, team leadership, sales support, and customer experience excellence.
The Assistant Center Director helps ensure the dojo runs smoothly day-to-day while developing the skills needed to grow into a future Center Director.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Execution
- Support and help oversee daily dojo operationsÂ
- Step into leadership as needed in the absence of the Center DirectorÂ
- Ensure a clean, organized, safe, and high-energy environmentÂ
- Maintain awareness of floor activity and student experience at all timesÂ
- Adapt quickly to real-time needs and support smooth operationsÂ
Sales, Tours & Parent Experience
- Follow up on leads, schedule tours, and support enrollment conversionsÂ
- Deliver engaging and informative tours for prospective familiesÂ
- Build strong relationships with parents and ensure a high level of communicationÂ
- Help parents understand their child’s progress and experienceÂ
- Contribute to retention through exceptional service and engagementÂ
Team Support & Development
- Support scheduling and daily coordination of SenseisÂ
- Assist in training, coaching, and mentoring team membersÂ
- Lead by example on the floor through energy, engagement, and professionalismÂ
- Help ensure proper staffing levels and team readinessÂ
Student Experience & Instructional Support
- Engage directly with students to ensure a fun and productive learning experienceÂ
- Support curriculum delivery and help troubleshoot student challengesÂ
- Reinforce a culture of encouragement, creativity, and problem-solvingÂ
Community Engagement & Local Outreach
- Support the Center Director in local community engagement effortsÂ
- Participate in:Â
Â- School outreach and partnershipsÂ

- Community events, demos, and promotionsÂ

- In-center events and parent engagement activitiesÂ
- Help ensure the dojo is a welcoming and visible part of the local communityÂ
Reporting & Accountability
- Assist with tracking key metrics and reportingÂ
- Provide updates to Center Director on operations, team performance, and customer experienceÂ
- Help identify opportunities for improvement and growthÂ
Qualifications
Required
- Experience working with children (ages 5+) and passion for youth developmentÂ
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skillsÂ
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environmentÂ
- Basic understanding of sales, customer service, or operationsÂ
- Flexible schedule including evenings and weekendsÂ
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skillsÂ
- Positive attitude and team-first mindsetÂ
Preferred
- Experience in education, camps, retail, or service-based environmentsÂ
- Sales, marketing, or customer engagement experienceÂ
- Interest in technology, gaming, or STEM educationÂ
- Familiarity with programming (JavaScript, Python, C#, etc.) is a plus (training provided)Â
- Associate’s degree or equivalent work experienceÂ

Compensation: $17.50 – $20 per hour | 20–25 hours per week + with opportunity for full time
