SUMMARY: The Childcare Attendant will ensure a safe learning environment for all children in childcare while providing quality childcare for casino employee’s children. RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise and care for children in the daycare center. Follow standard operating procedure for assigned station (gate, crafts, video, etc.) Engage children in activities and active play. Treat all children in a fair and equitable manner and pay special attention to new, shy, and/or other special needs children. Ensure equipment is safe, clean, organized, and well maintained. Perform daily housekeeping, opening, and closing duties. Assist in leading crafts, story time, play, and other activities. Ensure check-in and check-out procedures are followed properly. Develop a relationship with the children and their parents, demonstrating a genuine interest in the children of the center. Enforce all childcare center policies consistently and fairly. Maintain strict confidentiality of all childcare center and child information. Other projects and duties as assigned. QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS Education/Experience: Must have a current CPR card or obtain one within one month of hire. Must have a current First Aid card or obtain one within three months of hire. Must stay current with Pediatric First Aid/CPR card. Must join Idaho stars and do all required classes within first 90 days of employment. Must be currently attending School or enrolled in a GED Program, validation upon request. Must be 16 years of age or older. (Must be supervised in Childcare facility at all times if under the age of 18 years of age.) Skills/Knowledge: Must work well with little or no supervision and/or assistance. Must be able to prioritize responsibilities and handle a large volume of work calmly. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality. Must work well in a team environment. Must be adept at managing conflict and influencing outcomes. Must be skilled at multitasking. Must be able to follow directions. Basic problem-solving skills required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Must have a thorough understanding of the theory of progressive discipline as applicable to children in the childcare.
