SUMMARY: Supports the Hospitality Director in providing leadership, direction, and supervision of staff in the performing daily operations.  The Spa Manager also oversees the coordination of all guest requests.   RESPONSIBILITIES: Establish and maintain appropriate staffing in the Spa by interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, motivating evaluating, assisting with career development, promoting, upholding departmental expectations, disciplining, and terminating employees as needed. Set employee goals and expectations and ensure that each employee has a copy of the employee handbook and fully understands all department and organizational policies and procedures while ensuring that the staff provides the highest level of customer service. Hold regular informational staff meetings and deliver training directly or by scheduling with CCRH Training Coordinator and/or external training resources. Maximize sales in spa treatments, spa retail, and the nail lounge.  Manage inventory effectively, following proper purchasing procedures when procuring additional product. Ensure retail areas are inviting, presentable, and comfortable for guest shopping.  Maintain appropriate stock levels and reorder as necessarily, ensuring appropriate planning for sales potential.  Train and monitor sales staff, ensuring that customers are trained, thus increasing sales opportunities. Oversee all retail and gift certificate sales. Proactively manage operational costs in order to control profitability.  Develop and maintain procedures to minimize or eliminate losses, control and protect company assets, and manage operational costs to maximize profitability.  Ensure spa equipment is properly maintained and sanitized by all staff. Assist in creating an environment of professional, fun, sincere, and warm actions to further motivate staff.  Uphold code of ethics standards with staff in the performance of job functions. Develop programs to grow and retain customer base by creating and delivering value for price paid and a memorable experience for guests.  Oversee all spa staff. Implement compensation guidelines for customer disputes or complaints. Assist in creating a marketing strategy that is consistent with brand and image.  Remain knowledgeable of all spa industry trends.  Implement retail programs to maximize on revenue potential. Project and target revenue and expenses and manage payroll accordingly. Monitor staff and client schedules to maximize revenue growth and profitability.  Other projects and duties as assigned.  QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS Education/Experience: Must have an associate’s degree in spa management and four years experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience; bachelor’s degree in spa management preferred. Previous spa management experience preferred.    Skills/Knowledge: Must have an excellent attendance history free of no call/no show policy violations. Personal active customer database preferred. Must be adept at operating Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and other computer software relevant to the position.  Strong written and verbal communication skills required.  Must be adept at performing retail purchasing, merchandising, and inventory tasks. Excellent customer service skills required.  Strong problem-solving skills required.  Must be able to be proactive and remain positive in a multi-tasking, high demand environment.  Strong organization skills required.    Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
