We are looking for a part time, on-call truck driver to join our team! This person will fill in on an as-needed basis.

Bedford Transportation maintains a small fleet which hauls Bedford Industries product on a variety of routes. Our drivers operate well maintained late model freightliners with 53 foot dry vans and roll-up doors. We are looking for a safe, courteous driver with a flexible schedule to fill in on some shorter local runs (primarily on Fridays), and to be able to go over the road on multi-drop runs when our full time drivers are on vacation. (4-6 weeks per year) Ideal candidate would have OTR experience.

*Have a valid CDL

*Have a safe driving record

*Must be at least 21 years old

*Must pass DOT drug test and DOT physical

*Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally

*Meet all department of transportation requirements

*Have knowledge of shipping documents

*Have knowledge of federal motor carriers safety regulations

*Have the ability to climb in and out of tractors/trailers safely

*Be able to secure loads with straps, load locks, and doors

*Be able to spot trailers at load docks (properly raising and lowing landing gear)

*Be able to sit for extended periods of time

*Be able to perform duties in temperature extremes

*Present a neat and clean appearance at all times

*Be able to operate loading equipment

*Maintain driver's logs as required by federal motor carriers regulations
