We are looking for a Forklift Operator to join our Shipping/Receiving team in Wylie, TX.
Â
Shift: 6 am - 2:30 pm, if OT is required- shift would start at 4 am
Pay: $23.58

Job Summary
Forklift Operators support various departments with the movement of materials and products, including taking part in warehouse organizing and finished goods inspection, taking product off the production line and putting it away in designated locations in the warehouse, picking orders and loading and unloading customer trucks. Forklift Operators also fill in for other jobs in plant (e.g., Machine Operator) as business needs dictate. Standard work week 40 hours a week with occasional overtime, no travel required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-shift forklift inspections on forklift
- Record preventative maintenance activities, quality inspection data, equipment downtime, production output and other key metrics, performing mathematical calculations as needed
- Safely operate a sit down or stand-up forklift to move raw materials or finished products throughout the manufacturing floor, which includes, but is not limited to, keeping production line clear and running and keeping product and raw materials properly stored.
- Visually inspect material for quality defects; Segregate defective product and notify supervisor.
- Fill dumpsters from production floor; Housekeeping of plant (inside and out).
- Work as a team with production and shipping team to follow all facility Standard Works/processes and improve operations.
- Support the recycling area, when needed, and help to keep it organized
- Fill in on other areas of the plant as required with proper training
- Assists forklift operator II as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Highly motivated with a good, sound work ethic.
- Prior experience operating mobile equipment (Powered Industrial Trucks).
- Must demonstrate safe working practices and possess great attention to detail.
- Ability to follow CWT’s policies, procedures, and processes
- Good communication, organization, and time management skills
- Basic computer, mathematics, and problem-solving skills; ability to use a calculator
- Ability to use measuring devices (gauges, tapes, rulers).
- Team player able to follow instructions from both management and peers
- Ability to learn and operate new equipment
- Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs
- SAP ERP experience
Education and Experience:
- Required:
- High School Diploma or GED is Preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Prior experience in a manufacturing settingÂ
Working Conditions:
- Fast paced manufacturing environment where workers are exposed to both ambient/outside temperatures and dust; working with mechanical parts and pinch points; exposure to increased noise levels.
- Hours worked: 8-10 hours/shift, varies on shift schedule and business
- Flexible to the possibility of overtime and weekend hours when required
