Position Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct resident care and assistance with daily living activities in accordance with each resident's individualized care plan. CNAs work closely with licensed nursing staff to ensure residents receive the highest quality care in a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating
- Provide total care for residents who require additional support
- Monitor and report changes in resident condition to licensed nursing staff
- Take and record vital signs accurately
- Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and ambulation
- Distribute meal trays and assist with feeding when needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
- Turn and reposition residents as needed to promote skin integrity and comfort
- Support restorative nursing programs and individualized care plans
- Document care and observations accurately using the electronic health record system
- Follow infection prevention and control practices, including hand hygiene and isolation protocols
- Maintain resident confidentiality and dignity at all times
- Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and coworkers
- Assist with resident snacks, hydration, and comfort measures throughout the shift
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred but not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused
- Ability to manage stress and prioritize responsibilities while delivering excellent care
