Essential Functions and Role:

This is a āhands onā leadership role, under the supervision of the Load and Haul Manager and meeting the Company standards,Ā the function of this role is to be responsible for all areas of live bird grow out to include:
People:
- Provide safe working conditions for all Load and Haul associates
- Supervision of all related Load and Haul activities and associates
- Assist in the interviewing and training of new associatesĀ
- Conduct meetings with associates on safety and other job-related issues
- Ensure associates are informed and meet the requirements of all animal welfare standards, as well as policies and procedures of USDA, OSHA and MIOSHA
- Coach associates on the importance of working safe and in a team environmentĀ
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Process:
- Coordinate weekly kill schedule with plant needs and farm schedule
- Implement, train and manage Animal Welfare Standards
- Manage daily loading operationsĀ
- Maintain and report accurate records of all loading statistics
- Communicate regularly with operations plant management
- Maintain loading equipment to efficiently accomplish slaughter schedule
- Provide supervision and oversight of loading functions
- Keep accurate records of schedules and accounting
- Be available to assist Load and Haul at all times to assure the turkeys arrive on schedule
Product:
- Daily and weekly harvest schedulingĀ
- Must deliver birds to production plant live on arrival
- Manage loading schedule with contracted haul vendor
- Responsible for the safety, maintenance and operation of live haul equipment to efficiently accomplish slaughter schedule
- Oversee safety, maintenance and operation of load and haul transport
Qualifications:
- Five years of experience loading and hauling turkeys
- Previous supervisory experience
- Good written and oral communications skills
- Ability to work effectively with multiple levels of management
- Strong comprehensive and problem-solving skills
Due to biosecurity reasons, cannot own or live with any birds or poultry including, but not limited to chickens, turkeys, ducks, squab, quail, guineafowl, peafowl, song birds, or parrots. Known contact with these animals while employed should also be addressed to assess for biosecurity risk on a case-by-case basis.Ā

Wear necessary Personal Protective Wear including but not limited to: Protective Eye Wear, Ear plugs, Hard Hat, Hair Net, Cotton gloves
- Using hands and fingers, must be able load the birds in the cage.Ā
- Twist, bend, reach, and stand for 8-12 hours or the duration of the shift.Ā
- Occasionally lift greater than 50 lbs. throughout your shift.
- Stage boards at beginning and end of shift.
- Constantly stand on your feet throughout your shift
- Constantly flag throughout your shift.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
