The General Manager will oversee all aspects of the facility, leading teams, and ensuring operational excellence. This person will also be responsible for having in-depth knowledge and understanding of their market and competitive products. Their primary focus will be on optimizing production processes, maintaining quality standards, and driving overall efficiency. As a strategic leader, they will be tasked with achieving financial objectives, implementing best practices, sales growth and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This position will report to the Group President.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage, direct, and optimize facility overall operations, financial performance (P&L) and sales to ensure smooth production processes.
- Implement strategies to enhance productivity, minimize downtime, reduce production costs, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and product quality requirements.
- Identify new business opportunities, develop go-to-market plans, and plan execution
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention
- Develop and implement sales strategies that align with business objectives and drive revenue growth
- Drives initiatives to ensure continued improvement in safety, team member relations, customer satisfaction, quality, complete and on-time delivery, lean manufacturing and cost reduction.
- Administers company policies, directing and coordinating all divisional department activities to achieve strategic objectives and KPI’s.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels to meet production demands.
- Establish and enforce quality control standards to deliver products that meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Implement and monitor safety protocols and initiatives to minimize accidents and incidents.
- Identify opportunities for expansion, growth, and process improvements.
- Manages resources appropriately including partnering with the General Managers of the other divisions to share resources when appropriate.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related fields. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
- Strong P&L management experience
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and supply chain management.
- Experience with business-to business sales growth or business development strategies
- Experience in implementation of Lean Manufacturing and using Kaizen as a tool for Continuous Improvement
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost optimization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- In-depth understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
