Position Summary

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides one-on-one therapeutic support to children and adolescents, implementing individualized treatment plans under clinical supervision. This role is essential in helping clients develop positive behaviors, coping skills, and social functioning in home and community settings.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one behavioral health services to children and adolescents
  • Implement individualized treatment goals and interventions
  • Collect behavioral data and track client progress
  • Model interventions and strategies for caregivers
  • Support development of appropriate social and behavioral skills
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Collaborate with supervisors and treatment team members
  • Participate in required training and maintain compliance standards
  • Represent the organization professionally in all interactions


Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and follow treatment plans

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field (Psychology, Social Work, Education, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in another field with at least 1 year of experience working with children or adolescents
  • Associate’s degree or 60 college credits with 3+ years of relevant experience


Requirements

  • Ability to obtain PA clearances (Criminal Background, FBI, Child Abuse)
  • Completion of required trainings prior to independent work
  • Commitment to compliance with state, federal, and organizational standards
