Kitchen Float
Position Overview: The Kitchen Float supports Arise Café by assisting with prep, cook line, and runner duties to ensure smooth, efficient kitchen operations in a mission-driven environment.

Principal Responsibilities:
Prep Station
- Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit
- Slice or portion meats and ingredients
- Assemble salads, wraps, and grab-and-go items
- Keep prep tables stocked, labeled, and clean
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
Cook Line
- Assist with preparing hot menu items
- Cook and plate menu items to café standards
- Maintain cleanliness during service
- Record temperatures daily as required
- Report any equipment or safety issues immediately
Runner / Expo
- Deliver food items to service window or FOH
- Assist with plating, garnishing, and quality checks
- Keep utensils and workstations stocked
- Maintain clean dining/service areas
- Support communication between front and back of house
- Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Abilities, and Working Conditions
Knowledge of: Basic food safety and sanitation practices (training provided); General kitchen workflow and organization (training provided).
Abilities: Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure; Strong communication and teamwork skills; Capacity to lift up to 25 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in a warm kitchen environment.
Working Conditions: Standard commercial kitchen setting. May require early morning, evening, or weekend hours. General exposure to kitchen equipment, heat, and food preparation materials.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- No prior kitchen experience required—training provided.
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
- Ability to follow food safety and sanitation standards.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
