The Warehouse & Inventory Manager oversees all aspects of inventory and shipping and receiving for a 7 million case facility.  Guiding and developing a team of salaried and hourly associates.  Focusing on efficiency, process improvement, and positive employee relations while managing budget and meeting customer expectations. As a member of the plant management team, partners with other departments to achieve efficiency and collaboration.

Essential Duties:

  • Champions a safe work culture and reinforces behavior-based safety.
  • Manages the warehouse including oversight of picking, shipping, storage and replenishment.
  • Manages the Receiving Department for the plant. Including receiving of all inbound shipments of raw materials, packaging, supplies, or cross docked materials. 
  • Implements organizational change, continuous process improvement, and quality improvement techniques.  Provides technical expertise to improve operations.
  • Participates in projects from inception to completion including; design, justification, equipment selection, installation, and start up.  Assists in developing annual Capital Plan.
  • Interfaces with transportation, logistics, or 3PL transportation provider to insure on-time delivery.
  • Responsible for forklift fleet of the plant, in partnership with 3rd party maintenance provider.
  • Compare forecasted quantities, production scheduled quantities, and sales information against raw materials to confirm that delivery requirements on raw materials meet weekly production timing while staying within appropriate inventory levels.
  • Monitor MRP and identify what purchase order quantities to create and the timing of delivery for raw materials and packaging.
  • Understand the manufacturing process to assist in identifying problems and issues with materials and production schedules.
  • Review existing inventory items and suggest improvements for reducing or consolidating components.
  • Review, manage, and adjust for expiring items.
  • Manage monthly cycle counts/year-end physical inventory audit.
  • Review safety stock quantities of each item periodically to ensure appropriate levels are set and maintained in GP.
  • Has a critical role in assuring food safety and quality within the manufacturing environment by upholding food safety and regulatory policies and responsibilities. Responsible for following cGMP’s. Ensure all food safety and quality records are completed accurately and timely

Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of experience in warehouse, logistics and inventory management preferably in a CPG company.
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Possess proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must have strong analytical skills.
  • Must be able to multitask and re-prioritize workload frequently.
  • Must be detail-oriented and extremely organized.
