The Opportunity 

Our South Bow Asset Operations group is currently seeking a skilled Electrical Instrumentation & Controls (EIC) Technician to join our Team. We have multiple reporting locations available for this role listed below, and the successful candidate may choose the location that best fits their needs.

The successful candidate will support the operation and maintenance of our liquid pipelines and associated facilities throughout the surrounding area. This individual must be a self starter capable of working with minimal supervision and possessing strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision making skills. 

This position operates on a Monday–Friday schedule with 8 hour workdays. The successful candidate will also be required to take part in on call rotation.

  • Yankton Office: Yankton, South Dakota

  • Hartington Pump Station: Hartington, Nebraska

  • Stanton Pump Station: Stanton, Nebraska

  • David City Pump Station: David City, Nebraska

What You Will Do

  • Troubleshoot, operate, and maintain liquid pump stations, pipelines, and associated facilities

  • Operate and maintain auxiliary equipment including variable frequency drives, soft start equipment, PLCs, smart actuators, pumps, valves, and HART transmitters

  • Ensure all activities meet operational needs and comply with company and regulatory requirements

  • Ensure the safe and reliable completion of work activities including the supervision of contractors, issuing permits, perform lockout/tagout and safe work authorizations

  • Support multi-skilled maintenance requirements in the completion of pipeline and control system tasks

  • Plan coordinate and perform maintenance to include routine corrective and preventative maintenance, equipment and system improvements and major maintenance projects

  • Troubleshoot, operate, and maintain pumps, valves, and operators as well as other associated electrical, instrumentation, and controls equipment used in liquids facilities

  • Support on-call rotation, emergency response, and after-hour requirements

  • Complete work orders, enter data into job plans, create new work orders, etc. Microsoft D365

  • Proven excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma

  • Electrical, Instrumentation, Controls, or Telecommunications technical training, apprenticeship program, or equivalent education/ experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in midstream operations

  • Additional industry related certification and/or related trades experience

  • Previous experience with piping, motor operated valves, and operations

  • Thorough understanding of test equipment used to maintain control systems

  • Skilled use of equipment applicable to the maintenance of control and measurement systems

  • Computerized Maintenance Management System experience preferably with Microsoft D365

  • Proven proficiency in both written and verbal communication

  • Highly motivated with interpersonal skills to effectively work in a collaborative team environment that includes shared responsibilities, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others, support team and company objectives, and a willingness to work in all areas required by the team

  • Capability to safely and responsibly accomplish tasks and assignments, with a focus on appropriate handling and disposal of hazardous waste

  • Ability to utilize computers and e-mail for internal and external communication, record keeping, on-line reporting, material, and supply ordering, and filing of various forms

This position requires candidates to:

  • Have current, valid authorization to travel internationally (including but not limited to Canada and the US)

  • Successfully complete pre-employment medical screening including drug and alcohol testing, verification of criminal record, education, and credentials 

  • Have a safe driving record, maintain a valid driver's license, and provide a driver's abstract (record) for review 

  • Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training which could require to overnight stays from home. (up to 25% of work schedule) 

  • Be subject to hazardous conditions including adverse weather, heights, lifting, and cramped conditions
