Job Description Summary:Â Â
QA/QC Inspector observes and documents activities related to all aspects of transmission line and electrical substation construction including but not limited to foundations, tower steel construction, and conductor stringing and sagging activities. Â
Â
Responsibilities
Foundation: 
- Inspect excavation of piersÂ
- Verify soils match boring logsÂ
- Verify that depth and diameter are per design Â
- Verify rebar cages and anchor bolts meet project specifications Â
- Inspect placement of concrete Â
- Verify correct stub angle Â
- Record all locations of concrete being placed Â
- Verify concrete tickets for air content, slump, and temperature in required test loadsÂ
- Verify as-builds on the foundations before steel assembly beginsÂ
- Fill out all forms and daily reports as requiredÂ
Tower:Â
- Verify assembly and erection of lattice and tubular steel polesÂ
- Verify bolt torque and jacking operationsÂ
- Verify proper hardware and signage
Conductor: Â
- Document wire installation Â
- Verify dead-end assemblies are properly assembledÂ
- Verify proper compression sleeve procedures are followedÂ
- Verify correct saggingÂ
- Verify and document clippingÂ
- Verify and document proper number and location of hardware installedÂ
- Document times for pulling in wire, sagging and any work task of the pull that may have time constraints Â

Education and/ or Work Experience:Â
- High school diploma or equivalentÂ
- Some college business courses (helpful but not required)Â
- Knowledge of industry codes such as IEEE, ACI, ASTM, AWS preferredÂ
- Commercial construction / Inspection experience
