Assistant - Inventory (YORK)

Position Overview

Are you someone who takes pride in organization, accuracy, and working independently? Metrolina Greenhouses is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Inventory Assistant to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in keeping our inventory systems running smoothly—supporting both the Tag Room and broader production operations.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes, thrives in a structured environment, and can be trusted to manage daily tasks with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately pull and stage tag inventory for Production and Shipping departments

• Receive and properly label new inventory

• Perform basic inventory tasks using our MAS ERP system

• Store inventory in designated locations and update system accordingly

• Organize bins and consolidate inventory to maximize space

• Review receiving schedules to proactively plan for inventory placement

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely inventory support

• Assist with physical inventory counts and reconciliations

• Perform additional inventory-related tasks as assigned

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• Basic Microsoft Office 365 skills (Excel, Outlook, Teams)

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to read and interpret spreadsheets and data entry documents

• Self-motivated and dependable; able to work independently

• Team player with strong communication skills

• Valid driver’s license

Preferred:

• 1–2 years of experience in inventory or warehouse operations

• Forklift certification

• Familiarity with ERP/inventory systems (MAS preferred)

• Knowledge of Metrolina tag types and terminology

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work is primarily in a covered inventory area, with some tasks in office and outdoor settings

• Must be comfortable working around dust, allergens, and varying weather conditions

• Requires standing, bending, lifting, squatting, and reaching throughout the day

• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs unaided and 50 lbs with assistance

• May operate scooters or other machinery as needed (training provided)

• Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, with required overtime and weekends during peak seasons
