Warehaus is seeking a Civil Assistant Project Manager to support the planning, design, and delivery of site development projects across commercial, residential, industrial, institutional, and municipal markets. This role works closely with Civil Project Managers to assist with project coordination, client communication, and regulatory permitting while continuing to contribute to technical civil design work. As part of our collaborative civil engineering team, you’ll gain exposure to the full project lifecycle—from early planning and site design through permitting and construction coordination. The ideal candidate enjoys balancing technical problem-solving with project organization and is motivated to grow into a project management role while remaining actively engaged in design.
Responsibilities
- Assist Civil Project Managers with coordination and execution of land development projects across multiple project types and scales
- Manage portions of project production, including scheduling, task delegation, and coordination with internal staff and subconsultants
- Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and project stakeholders as directed by the Project Manager
- Assist with preparation and coordination of project permit applications and regulatory submissions
- Support the QA/QC process and help ensure project documentation meets Warehaus standards
- Maintain organized project files, documentation, and communication records
- Assist with preparation of project scopes, professional service agreements, project budgets, schedules, and subconsultant agreements
- Coordinate internal project team communication and assist with project workflow management
- Contribute to civil site design and plan preparation, including:
Site layout and vehicular circulation
Parking lot design
Site grading
Utility layouts (water, sewer, storm)
Stormwater management facilities - Assist with preparation of subdivision and land development plans, including:
Erosion & Sediment Control (E&S) plans
Post-Construction Stormwater Management (PCSM) plans
General NPDES permit documentation
Highway Occupancy Permit (HOP) plans - Support mentorship and coordination of junior design staff as appropriate
- Assist with project closeout tasks including record drawings and final documentation
Experience
- 5+ years of experience preparing land development plans for commercial, residential, industrial, or institutional projects
- Experience coordinating projects with municipalities, regulatory agencies, and permitting authorities
- Strong understanding of the land development process, from site planning through permitting and construction documentation
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, including grading, surfaces, and plan production
- Experience supporting project coordination, scheduling, or client communication within civil engineering projects
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred; candidates pursuing licensure encouraged
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to balance technical design responsibilities with project coordination tasks
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
