This is a caring, nonprofit skilled nursing facility providing medical, nursing, rehabilitation, dietary, and recreational support for adults with neuromuscular impairments. Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Cook to join our Dietary Services team. You’ll prepare nutritious, flavorful meals that meet the unique dietary needs of our residents—including therapeutic, texture-modified, and specialized diets. You’ll collaborate with the Dietary Director and care staff to ensure every meal supports residents’ health and comfort.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner for up to ~80 residents

  • Follow therapeutic meal plans (e.g., diabetic, texture-modified, nutrient-enhanced)

  • Ensure proper food safety, storage, and sanitation standards

  • Adapt meals for special diets and document changes

  • Monitor inventory, order supplies, and minimize waste

  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and equipment upkeep

  • Assist with menu planning and recipe adaptation

  • Support dietary staff training and maintain compliance with health regulations

Qualifications


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 1–2 years of cooking experience in a healthcare, residential, or large-scale environment

  • Experience with therapeutic or special diets a plus

  • Food safety certification required (e.g., ServSafe)

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Team-player mindset with excellent communication skills

  • Able to work flexible shifts, including early mornings and occasional weekends
