Qualifications

Position Summary

The Inventory Control Associate is responsible for performing daily cycle counts, auditing inventory, troubleshooting transaction discrepancies, and supporting corrective actions across Warehouse and Manufacturing operations. This role requires strong system knowledge (SAP/WMS), analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to resolve inventory inaccuracies.

The Associate provides KPI reporting to Finance and local leadership, manages documentation related to discrepancies (including purchase orders and order confirmations), and ensures compliance with company safety and operational standards. Additional duties may be assigned by the Inventory Manager or Distribution Manager based on business needs.

Essential Job Functions

  • Perform daily cycle counts including bin audits, piece counts, damage identification, short counts, overages, labeling accuracy, and bin location verification
  • Meet or exceed weekly and monthly cycle count objectives and KPI targets
  • Analyze cycle count data and perform variance reconciliation and correction transactions in SAP
  • Investigate root causes of inventory discrepancies and recommend process improvements
  • Monitor location aging reports and provide feedback to Materials and Operations teams
  • Provide accurate inventory metrics and reporting to Inventory Control and Finance leadership
  • Read and respond to inventory alerts and cross-departmental discrepancy notifications
  • Maintain organized documentation including SAP entries, Excel reports, purchase orders, and order confirmations
  • Maintain tools, supplies, and warehouse areas in compliance with safety standards
  • Complete audit reports and inspection documentation daily
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including:
    • Warehouse inventory maintenance
    • SAP updates and transaction entries
    • Stock rotation and product relocation
  • Participate in daily pre-shift meetings and stretching programs
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
  • Maintain professional, ethical, and respectful communication with customers, vendors, and team members
  • Be willing to work overtime as required by business needs

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum one (1) year of warehouse experience
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Working knowledge of RF scanners and warehouse systems
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (7+ hours per shift)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP or WMS systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Experience performing cycle counts or inventory reconciliation
  • Powered Industrial Equipment certification (or ability to obtain certification)

Working Conditions

This position operates in a warehouse and/or open storage yard environment. The role involves:

  • Standing for 7+ hours per shift
  • Walking 4–6 hours per shift
  • Sitting 1–4 hours per shift
  • Driving powered equipment 4–6 hours per shift (as applicable)
  • Continuous bending and squatting
  • Frequent reaching above shoulder level
  • Occasional climbing, kneeling, and crawling
  • Medium work classification (lifting up to 50 lbs., frequent lifting up to 25 lbs.)
  • Exposure to seasonal temperature changes and varying weather conditions
