Your Role
The Microbiology Technician supports BioTechnique’s Quality Control operations by executing microbiological and environmental monitoring activities in a sterile manufacturing setting. Technicians perform sampling, microbial analysis, and documentation in compliance with GMP and industry standards.
- Follow aseptic gowning procedures and wear required PPE in classified cleanroom environments
- Independently conducts routine testing and monitoring activities; supports compendial compliance
- Execute microbial testing and environmental monitoring of product samples, utilities, surfaces, air, and personnel according to SOPs and compendial standards
- Prepare and maintain media, sampling kits, and test solutions per SOPs and compendial requirements; support sterilization practices as applicable
- Operate biological safety cabinets and laboratory instrumentation while following aseptic techniques
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of laboratory spaces and support equipment maintenance and calibration
- Document results accurately in validated systems (ACE, LIMS) and maintain data integrity
- Participate in periodic lab and equipment cleaning and monthly tasks
- Support cross-functional collaboration with Quality Assurance, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Facilities
- Contribute to inventory management and reagent tracking
- Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in related scientific discipline, Microbiology preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in QC Microbiology function within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Prior experience in aseptic manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Understanding of aseptic technique, processes, and compliance.
- Understanding of industry regulations and compliance.
- Experience with disinfectant efficacy studies and facility validation is highly preferred.
- Experience working in bio safety cabinets.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S
- No C2C at this time.
