Full-Time - 0.9 FTE/72 Hours Biweekly

Day/Evening - shifts between 0700-1900 primarily 4-9 hour shifts between 0800-1730

Currently NO Weekend and Holiday rotation but based on unit needs

The Admission/Discharge RN will work under the leadership of York Hospital’s Float Pool to collaborate with the Emergency Department,11 inpatient medical-surgical units, and the discharge lounge to complete patient admissions, discharges, and other supportive tasks that impact patient throughput. Applicants will follow standard work to function autonomously during their shift completing expected tasks. Close collaboration with the discharge lounge and other units is required of this position. To be successful in the role the applicant should possess the following qualities: attention to detail, efficient task management, process improvement identification and implementation, collaboration, and effective communication. Applicants should be able to speak to or demonstrate experience and a passion for improving patient throughput and patient flow. 

General Summary

Provides professional nursing care at the beginner practitioner level in accordance with the principles of patient and family-centered care based on the nursing process and according to the clinical standards of the hospital. Acts as a primary nurse for patients on the unit. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines. May require specialized skills depending on unit assignment.
