Hours: (4) 9-Hour Shifts, Monday-Friday 0730-1700 w/ On-Call Weekend and Holiday Rotation Required w/ 45 Minute Response Time Required.
Emergency On-Call Rotation –Â
- Up to 3 evening shifts per month to cover evenings/nights Monday-Thursday.Â
- Usual Weekend Rotation – Once every 2-3 Months.Â
- One holiday call shift, every two years.
Interventional Radiology Nursing is a dynamic procedural specialty providing care for patients undergoing minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures across the Imaging Department. The team supports Interventional Radiology, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Fluoroscopy procedures while delivering full pre-procedure intra-procedure, and recovery care.
The department currently includes two IR labs, one IR Ultrasound procedure room, and four prep/recovery bays, with continued growth and expansion planned. IR Nurses care for a diverse patient population across the lifespan, ranging from infancy through geriatrics. Nurses practice in a highly autonomous role requiring critical thinking, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, rapid assessment skills, and the ability to manage patients with varying levels of acuity throughout the continuum of care.
General Summary
Provides professional nursing care at the beginner practitioner level in accordance with the principles of patient and family-centered care based on the nursing process and according to the clinical standards of the hospital. Acts as a primary nurse for patients on the unit. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines. May require specialized skills depending on unit assignment.
