Starr Insurance is looking for an experienced investment accountant to support global investment reporting and operations. This newly created position will report to the Investment Controller and is based out of Starr’s New York office.  

Responsibilities

  • In this position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of the cash accounts and investment portfolios.
  • Play an integral role in maintaining the Investment Accounting platform Clearwater. Requires ongoing collaboration with Clearwater servicing team in addition to custodian banks, third-party asset managers, and data service providers.
  • Review transaction and cash movements. Ensure timely and accurate booking in partnership with treasury operations and portfolio management team.
  • Responsible for maintaining daily reconciliations of positions and cash. Ability to investigate and troubleshoot breaks.   
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of investment accounting and reporting.
  • Support Ad Hoc reporting requests across cash and investment performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
  • 2+ years of investment accounting experience at either public accounting firm and/or in industry with a focus on cash and position reconciliation procedures.
  • Experience with Clearwater Analytics reporting platform a plus
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office software packages (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
