Position Summary

The CNC Route Controller is responsible for operating and managing CNC routing equipment to support the production of high-quality signage. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent organizational habits, and the ability to interpret detailed shop drawings with precise tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

Program, set up, and operate CNC routers using EnRoute and VCarve software.
Review and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and production packets to ensure accurate routing paths.
Verify material dimensions, tool selection, and cutting strategies before running jobs.
Maintain precise tolerances and quality standards for ADA signage, dimensional letters, cabinets, panels, and specialty components.
Organize workflow to ensure jobs are processed in the correct sequence and meet production deadlines.
Perform machine maintenance, bit/tool changes, calibration, and daily safety checks.
Communicate with Design, Production, and Project Management to clarify drawing details, material specs, and routing requirements.
Track materials used, scrap generated, and any issues during setup or routing.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Skills & Qualifications

1–3 years CNC routing experience preferred; sign manufacturing experience is a plus.
Proficiency in EnRoute and/or VCarve software.
Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and engineered files.
Strong understanding of tolerances, material behavior, and router tooling.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple jobs simultaneously.
Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for extended periods, and follow all safety procedures.
