Job Summary
Ability to layout and weld pipe together by a combination of, or by single process using SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, or GTAW to specified weld procedures.
Qualifications
- One year certificate from college or technical school or related experience and training
- 6G certification from prior employment.
- 2-5 year’s experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read blue prints and use simple math skills
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Must be able to work as a team
- Ability to pass a drug test
- Knowledge of (GMAW) STT process (surface tension transfer)
- Knowledge of SMAW 6010 downhill welding
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Reading and understanding blueprints prior to starting a project
- Measuring and cutting materials to specifications
- Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions
- Examines weld for bead size and other specifications
- Cleans weld joint or workpiece
- Operation of overhead cranes
- Rigging of workpiece
- Cut pipe to length using oxy-fuel torch or saw
- Operate mechanical beveler
