The Success Coach provides hands-on support to clients through job placement, career coaching, and careerÂ
development services. This role involves direct client interaction, conducting intakes, developing serviceÂ
plans, documenting progress, and recording information for billing purposes to ensure effective programÂ
delivery and compliance.
Essential Functions:
• Provide direct coaching and support to clients in areas such as attendance, punctuality, grooming, job-seeking skills, work quality and quantity, time management, mobility, money management, workÂ
practices, reasonable accommodations, assistive technology, and overcoming barriers to employment.
• Conduct classes and individual sessions on job search techniques, resume development, driver permitÂ
preparation, and other relevant topics. Offer on-site coaching and non-work-hour communications toÂ
support clients upon job obtainment. Access supervisor feedback on client progress, make referrals toÂ
auxiliary services, and monitor/document outcomes closely.
• Review referral and enrollment information, conduct comprehensive initial interviews and intakes withÂ
clients, and provide community resources based on assessment results.
• Adhere to program policies, procedures, and practices in compliance with oversight agencies, includingÂ
Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) standards.
• Communicate with clients' referral counselors according to program guidelines. Coordinate adjustmentsÂ
to services as directed and engage directly when appropriate.
• Develop individualized written training and employment plans in a timely manner, based on referralÂ
information, intake interviews, client work history, preferences, and evaluation results. Review and modifyÂ
plans as necessary.
• Maintain client records daily, upload documents, and update information in the client record systemÂ
within 24 hours of meetings or interactions. Record services accurately for billing purposes, ensuring allÂ
documentation supports reimbursement requirements.
• Discuss future programming, employment options, community resources, and job accommodations withÂ
clients to support informed decision-making.
• Assist in collecting and tracking data on client progress and program metrics to ensure accurate reportingÂ
and scheduling. Maintain contact with referral sources and other stakeholders as needed.
• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development to enhance serviceÂ
delivery.
• Complete required documentation, including daily notes, monthly reports, final reports, team and exitÂ
staffing forms, and templates from OOD (OH), OVR (PA), MCTA, and other agencies, meeting allÂ
Success & Outreach Manager deadlines.
• Administer client satisfaction surveys at designated times and contribute to outcome management byÂ
submitting service data monthly.
• Collaborate with the Success & Outreach Manager and team to identify client needs and improveÂ
program effectiveness.
• Represent the agency professionally in client interactions and community engagements as required.
• All other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Relevant experience in career coaching or direct client services.Â
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to pass all applicable background checks required by Youngstown Area Goodwill and/or theÂ
state/county services are provided in.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate with internal andÂ
external partners.
• Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook) required.
• Must be able to meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters ofÂ
instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
