Job DetailsLevel: EntryJob Location: Powerex - Youngwood, PA 15697Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 2 Year DegreeSalary Range: $40,223.82 - $59,424.30 SalaryJob Shift: AnyJob Category: Technician PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Performs a variety of general technical duties in the development of manufacturing procedures, new products, determining yields, performing experiments under the guidance of higher classified personnel.   WORKING PROCEDURES: Under direction of engineer or laboratory technician, assist in developing or evaluating new procedures and products, performing technical duties such as preparation of material, assembling devices, diffusion evaluation, electrical and physical tests, coating and encapsulation. Perform experiments to increase product yields and/or modify distribution by varying process parameters such as changing furnace time, temperatures or gas flow to produce devices that will meet required specifications. Assist in conducting electrical or mechanical evaluations of devices and submit data showing results. Investigate causes of low product yields by checking items such as process equipment, calibration, wiring of test equipment, and other variables. Assemble, adjust or modify equipment, fixtures or instruments.  Report equipment problems to supervisor. Establish and maintain files, data records and results of experiments and projects. Perform required computations and plot charts and graphs to show results of investigations. Comply with company policies regarding material accounting, information security, and work area cleanliness. All work must be performed in accordance with company safety policies and processes.   SCOPE, PURPOSE AND FREQUENCY OF CONTACTS:  Frequent contact with higher classified personnel and engineers to receive instructions on work assignments and to provide information on tests or experiments. DIRECTION OF OTHERS: Direction of lower classified personnel as needed. DIRECTION RECEIVED:   Works under normal supervision.  Receives detailed instructions and direction from higher classified personnel or engineers on all new assignments. QualificationsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Thirty credits towards an Associates Degree in an applicable field of study (e.g. electronics, engineering technology, etc.)  AND six (6) months experience in areas related to processing techniques utilized in performing laboratory duties.   OR Perusing an Associates Degree in an applicable field of study (e.g. electronics, engineering technology, etc.) AND one (1) year of manufacturing experience at Powerex. Employee must successfully achieve thirty credits towards the Associates Degree within two (2) years of obtaining technician position.
