Grants and Development Coordinator

Organizational Summary

The Corner Health Center is Michigan's first, largest and most comprehensive adolescent and young adult health center. The Corner serves youth and young adults ages 12 through 25 (and their children) and has nearly 50 years of experience providing care to individuals with complex needs. The Corner provides high quality, judgment-free, affordable health and wellness care and education, and it is an important part of the safety net healthcare system in the region.

Job Summary

The Corner Health Center seeks a Grants and Development Coordinator. The person in this role will be responsible for coordinating the grant management lifecycle, supporting events, maintaining data entry into donor databases, and coordinating financial and project implementation for grant awards at the Corner Health Center. This is an exempt, full-time position (40 hours per week, hybrid schedule, including occasional evening- and weekend-hours onsite or at locations in community) with competitive salary and benefits. This person will report directly to the Development Director. This is an ideal position for someone with great attention to detail looking to grow and a passion for supporting the development operation in a strong, local community organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Grant Writing/Application and Donor Information Coordination

  • Assist Development Director with grant application priorities and strategies for funding forecasting to the leadership team and board of directors.
  • Ensure TCHC is on track with all application and report deadlines; create and implement timelines for applications that include all steps and staff involved.
  • Track donor and grant funder actions in the Contact tab of Donor Perfect and track grant information; prepare grant update reports; coordinate reporting and ensure that all reports are submitted as requested by funders and the Development Director.
  • Regularly update Donor Perfect with individual and institutional donor information and meetings to maintain records of donor engagement.
  • Run reports from Donor Perfect and other systems to present requested fundraising information to various internal stakeholders.
  • Research public and private grant opportunities for management of a full prospect pipeline: attend funder information sessions and other opportunity-related webinars, etc. Represent TCHC at funder meetings as appropriate.
  • Create and write applications following guidelines as published by funders.

Events, Engagement, and Project Implementation Support

  • Assist with planning and execution of donor engagement and fundraising events
  • Assist with planning and execution of all scheduled and additional formal appeals
  • Facilitate ongoing communication among program teams, finance staff and funders to support successful grant implementation; proactively advise stakeholders on billing timelines, reporting milestones and financial compliance

Grant Finance & Reporting Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Programs and Finance Department to prepare accurate and timely financial reports/billings for all active grants, ensuring alignment with funder requirements and internal accounting standards.
  • Prepare accurate monthly grant billings within a 24-hour period after notice from FOI in order to meet internal financial reporting timeline requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison between program staff and finance to uphold donor intent and grant restrictions, ensuring expenditures remain within allowable cost parameters
  • Coordinate with CAHC program managers/coordinators to ensure outcome metrics are accurately tracked and reported; identify and communicate any financial or programmatic issues that may impact grant performance Accurately report on grant expenditures to external reporting stakeholders (e.g. via EGrAMS and/or email) per established deadlines.
  • Monitor CAHC and departmental grant expenditures to ensure proper allocation of funds to approved budget categories; run reports from Quickbooks and other software to provide regular updates to program managers on spend-down progress and flag variances and compliance concerns.
  • Create and write grant reports following guidelines as published by funders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience writing and/or managing grant lifecycle is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to focus on granular grant reporting and financial details
  • Excellent writing, synthesis, and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience with CRM systems, particularly DonorPerfect and EGrAMS, a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Commitment to the agency mission.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.

Salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000, depending on experience.
