Job Summary
The Corner Health Center seeks a Patient Service Representative. The Patient Service Representative (PSR) is responsible for greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, maintaining patient records, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires strong communication, organizational, and computer skills to support the efficient operation of a medical office or healthcare facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Answer phones and provide telephone triage, routing calls to appropriate staff.
- Greet visitors warmly and register all patients and ensure accuracy of all patient information.
- Perform insurance verification and eligibility.
- Perform check out duties, including scheduling of next appointment and collecting fees.
- Provide clinic staff with daily information regarding patient schedule as well as updates to the schedule throughout the day.
- Communicate with clinic staff throughout the day via EHR re: patient issues.
- Protect the confidentiality of member information in accordance with HIPAA laws and adhere to organizational policies regarding confidentiality.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide quality care to patients.
- Attend the clinic and staff meetings.
- Room patients and obtain vital signs and other pertinent information.
- Answer phone system promptly and professionally; take messages, route inquiries to the appropriate clinical or administrative staff.
- Document in EHR.
- Coordinate and optimize patient scheduling utilizing the EHR system; manage cancellations, no-shows, urgent and work in appointments efficiently.
- Administrative support; scan medical records, distribute faxes, process mail and perform other clerical duties to ensure seamless day-to-day clinic operations.
- Maintain cleanliness of clinic.
- Maintain clinic and office supply inventory.

- Maintain confidentiality.
- Experience/service in a community health/medical setting.
- Able to work flexible hours.
- Spanish speaker is a plus.
Working Conditions/Special Conditions
Patient care environment; frequent exposure to body fluids, infectious disease and potentially hazardous chemicals. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Adherence to clinic health protocols which may include mandatory immunizations as required by clinic policy and health care regulations.

$18-$21
